LIMITED EDITION. IMPORT JAPAN CD. SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE APPEARS HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON CD! Although he made his career playing baritone sax, Gerry Mulligan, besides being an outstanding composer and arranger, was also proficient on at least three other instruments: piano, which he used in concerts and recordings here and there, plus clarinet and alto sax, on which he was rarely heard. He plays the latter two instruments (plus his usual baritone), on the two albums presented here: Something Borrowed, Something Blue (appearing here FOR THE FIRST TIME ON CD), and Feelin’ Good. On the former album, he shares the frontline with the great Zoot Sims, and also features bassist Eddie Gomez in his only studio collaboration with Mulligan.
