Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Act 2015

Anti- slavery and human trafficking statement for financial year 2023/2024

Rarewaves.com Limited is an ecommerce retailer of physical entertainment packaged media, and other consumer products; including, but not limited to, CDs, Vinyl LPs, Books, DVDs and Blu-rays, Games Software, Toys & Games, Apparel, Office Products and Cycling Accessories. We offer our goods for sale direct to consumers via our own website and via marketplace partners including, but not limited to, Amazon and eBay. The products sold by Rarewaves.com Limited are sourced from a wide range of UK and EU suppliers.

The company is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any of our supply chains or in any part of our business. As such, we take great care in selecting our business partners. We aim to buy products from suppliers and distributors which can demonstrate an awareness of, and comply with, appropriate social and ethical standards and who can demonstrate compliance with relevant local legislation. This includes not participating or working with organisations that operate inappropriate or unfair working practices.

We undertake all reasonable and practical steps to ensure that our expected standards are being implemented throughout the businesses of our suppliers. These include sourcing assurances around anti-slavery compliance at supplier on-boarding stage. We require suppliers to implement procedures to ensure that there is no slavery present in their business and to notify us on becoming aware of any actual or suspected slavery or human trafficking within their own supply chains.

We work with only reputable service providers, many of which are also subject to the Act themselves. We approach the integrity of our supply chain as a process of continuous assessment. All procurement and support teams work to identify any areas where we may be vulnerable to the risk of modern slavery and take action to strengthen our processes where appropriate. The company has a clear whistleblowing policy which encourages staff to report concerns including any related to modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our 2024 actions include a review of all our suppliers for their own modern slavery statements or their proof of compliance with the act in both spirit and their legal requirements. We also have a series of on site visits to our UK partners’ distribution hubs throughout the year.

This statement is made on behalf of Rarewaves.com Limited, pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the company’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 August 2024.
