The Wishing Tree is an acoustic music project by Marillion`s guitarist Steve Rothery and British vocalist Hannah Stobart.
Stobart has a lovely ethereal quality to her voice, which shows to advantage in the whole record. Ostara features some delicate and ghostly harmonies, some mandolin and understated guitars providing an understated backdrop to the vocals.
Rothery excels himself, playing some fine acoustic guitars and when Rothery does let go with one of his trademark solos, he, as ever, makes the instrument sing.
This CD features live bonus performances of "Ostara" and "Fly", along with a live video of "Fly.
