'Out of the Blue' is a powerful musical / opera written by Shun Tokura and Paul Sand and opened in London's West End in 1994.
'Out of the Blue' is a ground breaking musical drama written by leading Japanese composer Shunn-Ichi Tokura and English lyricist / poet Paul Sand. Set against the dramatic backdrop of post-war Japan, the musical centres on John Marshall and his Japanese wife Hideko and the aftermath of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki in August 1945. The musical starred an array of the West End's finest leading performers including Meredith Braun, Greg Ellis, James Graeme, Michael McCarthy and Simon Burke. 'Out Of The Blue' opened at London's Shaftesbury Theatre in November 1994.
