EDITORIAL REVIEWS
Keith Oxman's latest release, This One's For Joey, is a tribute to a talented young man who passed away well before his time. Joey Pearlman was an extraordinary bassist and composer who had an undeniably positive influence on all he came into contact. The majority of the recording was made in 2021 and includes one of Joey's compositions along with 2 ballad standards, 2 originals by pianist Jeff Jenkins and 7 by Oxman. The final track is a recording from 2014 of Joey and his twin brother Stevie and Oxman playing John Coltrane's John Paul Jones. It's a very heartfelt session by some of Colorado's best jazz musicians, all of whom were deeply affected by the 24 year old's passing.
