Starring Morven Christie & Marsha Thomason from the award-winning writer Daragh Carville, The Bay is a beautifully crafted crime drama rooted in the families and communities of a distinctive coastal town. In the debut season, Family Liaison Officer Lisa Armstrong (Christie) is assigned to a missing persons investigation that, at first, tragic, but all too familiar. With horror, Lisa realises she has a personal connection with this frightened family - one that could compromise her and the investigation. Season two begins with Lisa at a low ebb, forced to do menial police work. However, when a new case involving a shocking murder within a loving family emerges, Lisa is called upon once again. Facing huge challenges at work and at home, Lisa must unravel the secrets of this new family and make amends for the past - to her colleagues, to her family and to herself. The third instalment welcomes DS Jenn Townsend (Thomason), who is thrown into the deep end when a body is found on her first day in the job. While she's eager to solve the case and give answers to a grieving and complicated family, she must also prove herself as the team's newest recruit. The fourth series sees DS Jenn Townsend and the team investigate when a young mum of four dies in what seems to be a targeted attack.but secrets and lies lurk everywhere. Series five finds Jenn suffering a loss of her own and balancing her own grief with the demands of a new case in which she must navigate the victim's still-warring divorced parents. The team leaves no stone unturned to get to the truth.
