Following the antics of children Wellington, Marlon, Maisie and Baby Grumpling and of course their canine companions BH and Boot . Together they experience the wonders and challenges of growing up and enjoying exciting adventures within their neighbourhood. The Perishers first appeared in British culture as a daily cartoon strip in The Daily Mirror in 1959. The strip was written by Maurice Dodd and drawn by Dennis Collins. In 1979 the cartoon strip was brought to the small screen by FilmFair, the animation company best known for British classics such as The Wombles and Paddington. The series saw Boot the dog being voiced by the fabulous Leonard Rossiter, who wonderfully set the tone for the series. Only 20 episodes were ever made and they were broadcast on the BBC and now they have been restored from the original film elements and presented in high definition for you to enjoy once again.
