Rare Round-Up: Entertainment News of the Week (28/07/2023)

As we begin to wind down from the madness that has been "Barbenheimer", let’s take a look at this past week on Rarewaves and beyond.

The biggest and most upsetting news of this week has been the passing of Irish music icon Sinead O’Connor. Beginning her career in 1986, O’Connor received international chart success with her debut album ‘The Lion and the Cobra’, also earning a Grammy for Best Female Vocal Rock performance. The songstress would go on to earn multiple other accolades across nine more studio albums over the next 27 years. Our thoughts are with her loved ones during this difficult time, and she will be missed dearly.

For horror fans, ‘The Wicker Man’ 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition by Vintage Classics along with the 50th Anniversary Steelbook, are also available for pre-order from Rarewaves.com.

On the music side, Olivia Rodrigo’s highly anticipated second studio ‘Guts’ is available for pre-order as is the debut album ‘Like..?’ by Ice Spice. ‘Who’s Next: Life House’- the fifth studio album by The Who, is seeing re-release on CD and a four disc vinyl that are both available to pre-order.

As for what you can get your hands on right now, a number of horror classics including ‘May’ have seen Blu-ray limited edition re-releases by Second Sight. They include a newly artworked slip cases, collector’s art cards, 70-page books with essays along with other bonus content.
