Rare Round-Up: Entertainment News of the Week (21/07/2023)

Rare Round-up 21/07

This week #Barbenheimer was trending, marking the release of two huge films and an iconic weekend of double screenings.
The Barbie Movie’ caught mass attention with a worldwide marketing campaign which saw the colour pink sprawled across almost everything… From collaborations with fashion houses such as Zara to a premiere which saw an extravagant display of pink fireworks at the London Eye, it surely is the biggest announcement of this week (let alone the year).

‘Oppenheimer’, directed by Christopher Nolan is entirely different in tone. Telling the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the film is set in World War II and unravels the scientist's involvement with the development of the atomic bomb.
Despite clear aesthetic and tonal differences, Barbie and Oppenheimer both promise to transport its viewer into a completely different world. What film will you be screening first?
Aside from Barbenheimer, there has been a variety of Limited Collector’s Edition film announcements. ‘Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest Fest’ revealed a huge box collection including 10 discs consisting of alternate cuts, documentaries and interviews plus exclusive memorabilia. ‘Mission: Impossible’, ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider Verse’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ revealed Limited Edition Steel Books which are a must-add for film collectors.
What did you think about the releases this week?
