Rare Round-Up: Entertainment News of the Week (08/09/2023)

What. A. Week!

As for news this week, perhaps the biggest is the announcement of The Rolling Stones first new music in 18 years! A new Stones era ushers in with Hackney Diamonds! It’s available to pre-order now and we simply cannot wait to listen to it!

Sticking with classic English rockers, Pink Floyd's iconic album The Dark Side of the Moon is coming to CD, Vinyl and Blu-ray with a special 50th Anniversary edition of the album! This marks the first time that the new mix will be available on its own in physical formats.

In the movies, The Equalizer 3 smashes onto cinema screens as well as pummelling it's way onto pre-order for 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. The third instalment of Denzel Washington's hard-hitting action thriller promises to be bigger and badder, and once you see it on the big screen, we’re sure you're gonna want to relive it in the comfort of your own home!

The Late Peter Bogdanovich's The Last Picture Show is seeing release courtesy of Criterion and if you haven’t seen it yet, you owe it to yourself as a film fan. Did you know that the film was shot in black and white after Bogdanovich shot tests of the town and they simply looked “pretty” where he was going for a dark and dreary feel. It was actually Citizen Kane director Orson Welles that pushed him to make it in black and white, claiming that he would never get the feeling he wants in colour.

Other big special releases include Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later which is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a limited edition 4K Steelbook.

Jackie Chan classic Battle Creek Brawl is also getting a big Blu-ray release that is jam packed with special features and beautiful box art!

It’s also your last chance to pre-order Doctor Who Series 20 before cut-off and Travis Scott's new album UTOPIA hit UK shelves TODAY!

What are you most excited about from this week?
