Rare Round-Up: Entertainment News of the Week (01/09/2023)

As ever, it’s been a busy week!

First of all, welcoming everybody back to school and the wizards back to Hogwarts, of course!

Were you at King’s Cross today to see the Hogwarts Express depart the station? How was it?

Second Sight Films blasted their way back on to the scene with brand new limited edition Blu-ray releases of cult classics Chopper and the beloved Ginger Snaps trilogy. Both have garnered huge followings and now you can experience them in a cleaner, clearer, and prettier way (seriously, the special edition packaging looks beautiful!) Both hit shelves on the 30th of October and we can hardly wait!

Additionally, the third and would-have-been final entry of the Scream franchise is slashing onto 4K for the first time! From October 3rd, experience the frights in a much sharper way (see what I did there?)

If you’re of a certain generation, you’ll remember those days coming back from school and jumping straight onto your PS3 or XBOX 360 and engaging in a few or 30 friendly, definitely no cursing down the microphone games of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Over the last few years, sledgehammer and Activison have been reigniting our nostalgia with the rebooted Modern Warfare series and MW3 is available now to pre-order and hopefully have more definitely non-hostile games of good ol’ COD from November 11th.

For anime fans, the much beloved One Piece had its live-action series adaptation set sail on Netflix this week. Expect all the wacky fun that you love from Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates in a brand new way!

Have you seen it? What do you think?

The much anticipated seventh studio album by English musician Steven Wilson is coming very soon! Described as a “genre-spanning collection that opens up like a musical puzzle box" – you can experience it from September 29th.

What are you most excited about this week?
